Downtown Sounds, Week One: Funk Yeah!

Downtown Sounds. It's here! It's happening. I was there! You were there! Wait, you weren't there? Okay. Let me take you through it then. You're coming to the next one though, right? Duh. Alright, you didn't miss out on much.

Just kidding, yes you did. I don't want to make you feel bad about it or anything, but it was so good that there was whole double rainbow. Look.

Also, before we even begin, a big THANK YOU to our photographer Sean Casini of Isaac Nines Photography. All of these incredible photos are his work, unless stated otherwise.

First of all- have you heard the newest Celebrate Shelton Podcast? We had the whole crew! Michael, Jimmy, & Nicole. Our musical guest was the incredibly talented Thabisa, who will be at our August 5th show! Listen below. Or, check out our Youtube or listen on Spotify.

But boy, was it a hot one that day. 95 degrees! But, that didn't stop anybody, did it? We had an amazing Kids Hour with Project Dance Center and learned an entire dance to "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from the movie Encanto. They LOVED it!

Then, after that, Nardy Boy got on stage and it started to get FUNKY!

Oh yeah, and then it also started to DOWNPOUR. Not going to lie, we saw those rainclouds and got a little worried. Were we about to get rained out? We still had another band right after this! Were people going to pack up and leave? Nope.

They started to dance in it.

Shelton- People of The Valley- I shouldn't have doubted you for a second. Everyone started to dance in the rain. And it felt good, too! That rain cooled off the hot as heck day, and everyone loved it.

Just like that, the double rainbow appeared right as BooYah started to take the stage. It was magical! It was almost as if a switch was flipped. The day got cooler. BooYah started playing some GREAT Disco revival songs. A ton of people started to file in.

DJ Doey Joey had us jammin in the in betweens and after-sets. The dancing just didn't stop!

Listen, if the next few Fridays are anything like this week, you really can't miss these shows. We've got Will Evans & Barefoot Truth Reunion, Elle Sera Trio, with Bring the Hoopla for Kids Hour this Friday, on the 29th. Next week we have Roots of Creation, Thabisa, with Will Parker for Kids Hour on August 5th. A full beer garden. Artisan Shopping. I could keep writing about how amazing Downtown Sounds Summer Concerts is, and keep showing you great pictures. I mean, look at this one.

YEAH. Thanks Drones Over The Valley for this amazing picture of the start of Downtown Sounds!

I could keep going, but I think you should just experience this one for yourself. Let's get local, friend! I'll see you this week.
